Crystal Cruises this week announced another addition to their already aggressive line of product expansion. Two additional luxury river cruise yachts will be joining the line’s fleet of river-faring ships, which include the refreshed Crystal Mozart and four previously announced newbuilds: Crystal Debussy, Crystal Bach, Crystal Ravel and Crystal Mahler.
The announcement came May 10 during a press conference at a Lloyd Werft shipyard in Wismar, Germany. Top executives from Crystal Cruises, parent company Genting Hong Kong and Lloyd Werft shipyard, along with several German politicians and select media, were in attendance.
The announcement coincided with the signing of shipbuilding contracts for six of Crystal’s river vessels; Endeavor, Crystal’s luxury polar expedition yacht; and the first of the three ocean-faring ships in Crystal’s new Exclusive Class.
“May 15 will mark one year under [Genting Hong Kong’s] ownership, which has allowed us to catapult to all this growth,” said Edie Rodriguez, CEO and president of Crystal. “On behalf of all of us on land, at sea and in the air…the future is ‘Crystal-clear’ and bright.”
The two new ships have not received names as of press time.
