Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection has added new itineraries and ships for 2012 and 2013, broadening its offerings in Europe and Asia. This year’s European itineraries include the eight-day Gems of Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands with Floriade, sailing between Brussels and Cologne and the 17-day Grand Treasures of Europe with Floriade from Brussels to Prague.
In 2013, the company will add Highlights of Eastern Europe, sailing eight days between Belgrade, Serbia, and Vienna, Austria, along with the Grand Danube and Prague, a 17-day cruise between Prague and Belgrade, and the 22-day Grand European Highlights between Belgrade and Basel. In addition, guests can choose the roundtrip Venice eight-day Venice and the Po River, the 13-day Splendors of Italy between Venice and Rome and an Enchanting Christmas and New Year’s cruise sailing 11 days from Passau to Budapest.
Responding to the demand for more active shore excursions, Uniworld has preselected local opportunities to explore the outdoors with complimentary bicycles and Nordic walking sticks. Guests who prefer a more relaxed pace and would like to have more time to linger, can join a slower-paced group with its own English-speaking local guide.
Uniworld has designated multigenerational, family-friendly cruises on routes including Burgundy & Provence and Paris & Normandy. Next year an additional family-oriented itinerary, Classic Christmas Markets, will be added. These sailings are scheduled on family-friendly dates and with special pricing.
The line also offers 17 itineraries this year featuring its Epicurean Adventurer Program, which is designed to take guests deeper into the world of food and with private wine tasting, special wine and food pairings, cooking demonstrations and shore excursions.
In Southeast Asia, Uniworld introduced cruising onboard the River Saigon along the Mekong River in January with 30 staterooms and, in 2013, the line will launch the River Orchid along the Mekong. Itineraries include Timeless Wonders of Vietnam, Cambodia and the Mekong, sailing between Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi in 15 Days, and Grand Asia & the Mekong, sailing 24 days from Beijing to Hanoi.
