Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection has debuted two new themed cruise programs in Europe this year.
The Monarch Collection gives guests a taste of the life of European aristocrats, with experiences such as a cocktail reception at Austria’s Artstetten Castle with Princess Anita von Hohenberg; a private guided tour of the Royal Lipizzaner Stallions and Spanish Riding School at the Hofburg in Vienna; an onboard Liszt piano concert; intimate themed dinners; and an onboard patisserie demonstration.
Passengers on the European Jewels itinerary between Budapest, Hungary, and Amsterdam will also enjoy dinner and a concert at 12th-century Weikersheim Castle in Germany, while those on the Enchanting Danube route from Budapest to Passau, Germany, will experience an exclusive concert at a Viennese palace.
Uniworld’s Connoisseur Collection in France is a foodie’s delight. Onshore and onboard culinary activities vary based on the itinerary, from an onboard Valrhona chocolate tasting and wine pairing to a cooking demonstration and tea party at Institut Paul Bocuse near Lyon. Guests have the opportunity to taste apples, cheeses, ciders and calvados (a French apple brandy); taste cognac at Remy Martin Estate; hunt for truffles; and visit La Couronne in Rouen, where Julia Child’s first French meal changed her life and, eventually, Americans’ perspective on French cooking.
The program appears on select sailings of Paris & Normandy cruises, as well as on Burgundy & Provence cruises and Bordeaux, Vineyards & Chateaux sailings, along with combined cruises Grand France and A Portrait of Majestic France.
