Brendan Takes on Eastern Europe

Dec 23, 2011

Brendan Vacations will be featuring 13 new programs for 2012, including the tour operator’s first-ever tours of Eastern Europe and the Balkans. New itineraries will feature the visually stunning landscapes of the region, as well as highlights of the area’s rich and diverse culture. Brendan promises that the immersive and personal components of its tours will bring travelers an enhanced understanding and appreciation of the local culture.

“We are very excited to launch these new and intriguing itineraries,” said Nico Zenner, president of Brendan Vacations. “Brendan’s ‘Taking you Personally’ motto is very telling of the kinds of experiences and destinations we continue to reveal for our customers. Our novel Guided Vacations in Central and Eastern Europe and in the Balkans, and our nontraditional take on cities, such as Venice, assure our guests that they will see these places in a most exclusive way.”

The new brochure includes a variety of options to thoroughly explore these regions. The Crossroads of Cultures and Contrasts: Bosnia, Croatia and Slovenia tour is a 12-day adventure starting in Sarajevo and continuing along the Adriatic Sea, including a stop at Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour begins at $1,985, based on double occupancy. With Discovering the Balkans, an 11-day tour priced from $1,758, based on double occupancy, participants can enjoy the historic treasures of the region. Highlights include the National History Museum in Sofia, Bulgaria; visits to the Kalemegdan Fortress in Belgrade, Serbia; and sightseeing in Hunedoara, the famed Bran and Peles Castles and the Parliament Palace in Bucharest, Romania.

Those seeking a more focused and immersive experience should look into the Highlights of Slovenia option. This eight-day tour highlights the best of Slovenia, including a visit to the unique Postojna Cave and stays in Ljubljana, Piran, the coastal resort of Portoroz and other areas. The tour ends with a relaxing three-night stay in Bled, a peaceful town in the Alps. Pricing starts at $1,566, based on double occupancy.

Brendan also offers longer tour options for those interested in a broader and more comprehensive experience. From Greece to Dalmatia, a 17-day tour priced from $3,288, based on double occupancy, is one such option. Highlights of the itinerary include a city tour of Athens with visits to historic sites such as the Acropolis, the Temple of Apollo in Delphi and the ruins of Rozafa Castle, as well as stops at Plitvice Lakes, Postojna Cave and a number of Balkan cities. Alternately, Fabled Cities of Europe: Zagreb to Venice, provides a 15-day itinerary from $2,899, based on double occupancy. This includes city tours of Zagreb and Sarajevo, with tours of the Republic of Montenegro and Bay of Kotor, as well as visits to the bay of Kvarner and various other stops. Guest will also be treated to a full day in Plitvice National Park, including a walking tour of several of the lower lakes.

Clients can choose from various other vacations in the region, including itineraries that feature Russia, a showcase of imperial cities from Vienna to Warsaw and tours covering Transylvania, Prague, Ukraine, Poland, Hungary and other destinations. These vacations through emerging European destinations are designed especially for clients looking to re-discover Europe or expand their horizons on the continent.
