On June 10, Apple Leisure Group hosted a virtual executive supplier panel with preferred suppliers, followed by a Q&A session with travel advisors and a press conference for travel trade media. Supplier panel participants included representatives from RIU Hotels & Resorts; Iberostar Hotels & Resorts; AIC Hotel Group; AMResorts; Blue Diamond Resorts; MGM Resorts International; Marriott International; and Universal Orlando Resorts. The panel was moderated by Ray Snisky, executive vice president and COO of Apple Leisure Group Vacations.
In addition to addressing reopening dates and health and safety protocols, hoteliers gave advice on selling during the pandemic (including how to best build the confidence of wary travelers); provided insight into summer booking trends; and discussed how suppliers are reimagining travel before a COVID-19 vaccine is made available.
