On Feb. 19, SouthWest Germany (the State Tourist Board of the German federal state of Baden-Wuerttemberg) invited a select group of Los Angeles-based travel- and culinary-focused media to SouthWest Germany Cooks!, a regionally inspired cooking class at Sur La Table in Los Angeles.
Thorsten Rudolph, CEO of Hochschwarzwald Tourismus (the tourism leg of Germany’s Black Forest Highlands region), led the media in crafting a four-course meal that included snail soup, ceviche, lamb with a sweet potato and mango mash and — quite fittingly — Black Forest cake, a specialty of southwest Germany.
Following the class, guests feasted on their creations while learning about the travel offerings available to clients visiting Baden-Wuerttemberg.
