Switzerland Tourism and The Lake Geneva & Matterhorn Region recently invited media and guests to celebrate winter the Swiss way: with a raclette dinner party, complete with Swiss wines from the Lake Geneva and Valais regions. The event, held Dec. 5 at The Victorian in Santa Monica, Calif., revolved around the Swiss alpine cheese known for its melting properties.
The dinner party included several special guests, including Romuald Baillifard, the master of ceremonies (aka the person melting the tops of two half-wheels of cheese) and a raclettier from the Matterhorn (Valais) Region. Also in attendance was Claudio Zemp, the new director Americas for Switzerland Tourism. Zemp most recently served as director India for Switzerland Tourism.
