In honor of International Women’s Day on March 8 — which this year featured the campaign theme “Choose to Challenge” — Travel Leaders Network hosted a virtual panel of formidable women within the travel industry.

Participants included Mimi Comfort, president and co-owner of Cruise Holidays Kansas City, who moderated the event; Vicki Freed, senior vice president of sales, trade support and service for Royal Caribbean International; Paula Hayes, vice president of sales at Globus Family of Brands (parent company of Avalon Waterways); Kristin Karst, co-owner and executive vice president of AmaWaterways; and Dondra Ritzenthaler, senior vice president of sales, trade support and service for Celebrity Cruises.

During the discussion, the executives shared stories about their careers and families, and spoke candidly about overcoming personal and professional challenges, maintaining work-life balance, embracing change, defining success and supporting other women.
