Location and History

The W Amsterdam is comprised of two large buildings situated in a perfectly central location, right next to the Royal Palace and steps from Dam Square.

One building was the city's original Telephone Exchange Building, dating to the 1920s and once the headquarters of Royal Dutch Post. The second is a grand Bank building, a stately Neo-Gothic, turn-of-the-century edifice located across a minor one-way street (Spuistraat).
