Location and History

Like so many other luxe hotels in the heart of Budapest, the W Budapest is in its own UNESCO-protected building. It is across from the main opera house and within Drechsler Palace, most recently known as the ballet institute, which matches its neighbor in catering to the city's growing arts scene. The building was even built to complement the state opera house across the street although no one would have ever seen the likes of a W hotel coming a century later....
