Across from St. John's Church and Princes Street Gardens on a busy pedestrian-unfriendly intersection, within view of the castle and 13 kilometers from the airport, this hotel was originally built as a grand Victorian railway hotel. In other words, it has good bones and is lovingly referred to as the Old Lady of Princes Street.
