ASTA Launches New Member Reporting Tool to Hold Suppliers Accountable

The American Society of Travel Advisors has launched a Report a Supplier Policy or Industry Practice Concern tool, a new platform that allows members to flag policies and practices that they believe unfairly burden travel advisors, restricts competition or hinders their ability to serve clients.

With the new platform, ASTA members can directly report recurring issues involving a single supplier, multiple suppliers within a sector or broader industry-wide practices. Examples include direct-to-consumer marketing, pricing discrepancies, inequitable commission or compensation policies, requirements that shift disproportionate risk or liability to agencies and restrictions on access to content or information.

The platform follows ASTA’s Report a Hotel Commission Issue tool, which has helped recover more than $53,000 in unpaid commissions while identifying hotel properties repeatedly flagged for nonpayment.

Recently, ASTA also made its Hotel Watch List publicly available for a limited time, identifying properties that members have reported for failing to pay advisor commissions.

Rather than focusing solely on hotel commission disputes, the new initiative broadens ASTA’s ability to identify recurring issues across the travel marketplace that impact advisors.

“Travel advisors see firsthand where the system is falling short, and their experiences are critical to ASTA’s work on behalf of the industry,” said Zane Kerby, president and CEO of ASTA. “This new tool gives our members a clear way to put harmful practices on our radar so we can identify patterns, engage suppliers, inform the advisor community and determine where collective action is needed. When advisors speak up, ASTA can turn individual concerns into a stronger case for industrywide change.”

ASTA members can report related concerns online as of July 28, 2026.
