What
A new study by Destinations Counsellors International (DCI) looks at how destinations can provide help to travel advisors dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. In general, the research finds that nearly 60% of agents in the U.S. and Canada are optimistic that they will be able to attend marketing events as early as May or June. However, when it comes to participating in international fam trips, the majority of advisors (56%) believe that August through December is a more likely time frame to begin traveling again.
Why It Matters
The study also finds that while most advisors spend their time these days dealing with cancellations and rebookings, 38% of respondents say they are also engaged in destination education, showing that even now, agents remain hungry for information. The findings in this report will help destinations as they consider the best ways to support advisors during this difficult time. In the long term, it will also lead to a more effective approach that delivers the information agents need, when they need it.
