Apps for Kids from the National Wildlife Federation

Two new iPad apps from the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) have been released for tiny tech lovers. Ranger Rick Jr. Appventures: Lions is designed for children ages 4-7 years old, while Ranger Rick’s Tree House offers an innovative magazine app for kids ages 7-12. Both apps are focused on education, as well as providing a safe, ad-free environment for children, and feature interactive photos, videos, games, puzzles, jokes and animal sounds.

With the Ranger Rick Jr. app, kids join Ricky Raccoon on the grasslands of Africa for an amusing lion tale. Players enjoy an interactive photo story, five fun games and creative outlets such as an animal piano for composing music, a sticker board for creating pictures, funny fill-in-the-blank stories and more. Ranger Rick’s Tree House, which is all about animals, takes place in a treehouse where the rooms are filled with activities for kids to explore. Features include interactive wildlife articles, multi-level games, comic adventures, nature activities, wildlife mysteries, customizable decorations and more.
