My fave vacation was a trip to New York. I like going places with my mom, and we had lots of fun. Because we both love theater, we went to a bunch of plays on Broadway. We also went to a jazz brunch for kids. It was really fun, mostly because the lead singer was very silly.
My mom and I also like to eat different kinds of food, and New York has everything you could ever dream of. My favorite meal was at Serendipity 3, where we drank frozen hot chocolate with our lunch. We also had popsicles at Pop Bar, where they had hot chocolate on a stick. In New York, everyone orders in, so the first night we did the same -- we had Chinese delivery in our hotel room at the New York Hilton.
Even though it was really, really cold when we were there, New York had lots of things to keep us entertained. We went to a pottery place on the Upper West Side, but it wasn't just pottery. At Make Meaning, you could make anything you wanted, such as candles, soaps, jewelry, pottery and glass. We also went bowling at Lucky Strike. It had good food, especially the beef skewers and fried mozzarella.
We also stayed at some really nice hotels. At the Benjamin Hotel, they gave us milk and cookies before bed and spelled out our names in chocolate on the plate. We also stayed at the Homewood Suites. To get to it, we had to ride a ferry across the river at night. The entire city glowed, and it was beautiful.
I would love to return to New York. Next time, I definitely want to check out Central Park!
