Paul Gauguin Cruises is encouraging families to sail onboard the Paul Gauguin during its Dec. 18 and Dec. 27 sailings through French Polynesia for unique holiday-themed family activities. For both sailings, children will have free access to the cruise line’s Ambassadors of the Environment Youth Program, which is regularly available for an additional fee of $269 per child. The program, which was created by renowned environmentalist Jean-Michel Cousteau, introduces children ages 9 to 17 to marine and island ecosystems with hands-on activities such as hiking, canoeing, exploring coral reefs and visiting ancient Polynesian temples.
Additionally, on the Dec. 18 sailing to Tahiti, Society Islands and Tuamotus, renowned Southwestern chef Stephan Pyles will lead cooking demonstrations for onboard guests. The ship’s restaurant, L’Etoile, will feature Pyles’ signature dishes on its menu.
During the cruise, families will also be able to visit Paul Gauguin Cruises’ private white-sand beach on Bora Bora, as well as the private island of Motu Mahana, where they can take part in an authentic Polynesian barbecue.
