Explore the Legacy of Sulla-gun in Jongno-gu

Have you ever wondered what it was like to patrol the streets of ancient Seoul during the Joseon Dynasty? Now, you have the chance to rediscover the historical significance of Sulla-gun, a unique initiative brought to you by Jongno-gu.

During the Joseon Dynasty, the brave guards called Sulla-gun played a crucial role in ensuring the safety of the city during the day and night. Their primary activity area was known as "Sulla-gil,” which today connects the prestigious landmarks of Jongmyo Shrine, Changdeokgung Palace and Changgyeonggung Palace. This route, once the royal procession path known as Donhwamun-ro, has now evolved into a hub for various industries including jewelry, crafts, traditional Korean music and Hanbok fashion.

Jongno-gu is excited to introduce an innovative Stamp Tour that can only be experienced along Sulla-gil. This tour blends historical narratives with contemporary twists, offering a unique and captivating experience.
