Ritz Tours Offers Scenic Yangtze Discovery Tour

Ritz Tours’ 16-day Scenic Yangtze Discovery tour offers clients an opportunity to explore China’s major sites through Nov. 21. The tour begins in Beijing, stops in Fengdu or Wanzhou, Chongqing, Xian, Guilin and Shanghai and cruises along part of the Yangtze River.

Beginning in Beijing, clients will visit of the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the Summer Palace. Guests also have an opportunity to walk the Great Wall and the path to the Sacred Way as well as explore the Temple of Heaven.

Following Beijing, a Victoria Cruises vessel will take guests upstream on the Yangtze River to visit the Sandouping Village and the Three Gorges Dam project. A highlight of this journey will be sailing through the Xiling Gorge, the longest part of the Three Gorges Dam. Guests will also board a smaller ship to sail the Daning River and enter the Lesser Gorges.

After visiting either Fengdu or Wanzhou andexploring Chongqing, the group will fly to Xian where they will learn about the Terra-Cotta Warriors as well as tour the City Wall and Big Wild Goose Pagoda. On their last night in Xian, clients will attend an Imperial Dumpling Banquet and take in a Tang Dynasty Stage Show.

The next stop on this journey is Guilin, where travelers will visit Elephant Trunk Hill, the Reed Flute Cave and cruise down the Li River. Before leaving Guilin and heading for Shanghai, guests will be treated to a folk dance performance by a group of ethnic Chinese minorities.

In Shanghai, the final stop on the tour, guests will visit the Yu Yuan Gardens and the famous Shanghai Museum. The tour ends with a performance from Chinese Acrobats.

This year’s travel dates for the Scenic Yangtze Discovery are available through Nov. 21. Ritz Tours guarantees that the Scenic Yangtze Discovery tour will depart with a minimum of at least two passengers. Pricing For this tour begins at $3,788 per person, based on double occupancy, including roundtrip airfare from Los Angeles and San Francisco.
