On Nov. 18, South Australian Tourism Commission hosted a virtual event for travel media showcasing key food and wine experiences for travelers in South Australia’s Coonawarra region. Located on the Limestone Coast, Coonawarra is renowned for its red wine production — particularly Cabernet Sauvignon — which can be sampled at more than 24 tasting rooms.
Highlights of the event included a discussion of Coonawarra’s unique wine heritage and a guided tasting led by contemporary winemaker Kate Goodman of Penley Estate, a family-operated winery owned by sisters Ang and Bec Tolley. John Dyer, managing director of Air Adventures, joined the conversation to discuss the Great Wagyu Adventure, a special Coonawarra itinerary from the private air safari company’s slate of offerings. On the one-day luxury culinary tour, travelers enjoy private flights for prime sightseeing, an experience at Wynns Coonawarra Estate winery and a multicourse meal at Wagyu beef farm Mayura Station.
