Thailand’s tourism industry is unveiling a variety of upgrades,
special offers and renovations as the number of visitors to the
country continues to grow.
The new Central Krabi Bay Resort, with its own private bay,
recently opened with a private aquarium that can be viewed by
diving under the water of the resort’s swimming pool. The resort’s
192 ocean-facing rooms also all have expansive “living-room style”
terraces complete
with lounging and dining areas, spacious bathrooms with separate
baths and rain showers.
Activities include sailing, kayaking, diving and windsurfing and
the resort is offering introductory “Recreation Fun Dive” packages
(for certified divers only), that include six dives over three
days, including transfers and lunches.
The program starts at about $650 per person and includes a
one-hour Thai Massage and Herbal Stream Sauna at the Centara
Spa.

Meanwhile, Thai Airways has introduced a new prepaid
international travel card. The Thai Value Plus Card offers savings
on individual flight legs, and can be used to stop in seven
destinations throughout Southeast Asia, including Laos, Kampuchea,
Vietnam, Malaysia, and Singapore. The cards are being sold until
Sept. 30.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand also has launched its new
specialist program, “Thailand Golden Agents.” After completing six
short online study courses, certified agents will be added to a
priority list for consumer referrals and fam trips to Thailand.
