The International Culinary Heritage Exposition (NICHE), originally scheduled to make its foray on Nevis in October, has been rescheduled for Dec. 5-7 due to a precautionary measure in response to Hurricane Omar.
The three-day exposition plans on holding all the original events, celebrating top chefs from Nevis throughout the Caribbean.
“We’re thrilled the chefs on the original schedule have all confirmed their participation including our celebrity chef, Carmen Gonzalez,” said Garcia Thompson-Hendrickson, CEO of the Nevis Tourism Authority. “Unfortunately, we will no longer be able to host our main gourmet tasting event at the Four Seasons Resort Nevis. Luckily, the folks at Nisbet Plantation Beach Club have stepped up to the plate and offered to host this gala event on their beautiful property. This will be a wonderful addition to our NICHE festivities.”
Showcasing series of cooking demonstrations, seminars and gourmet showcases at Old Manor Hotel — one of Nevis’ first plantation inns — it will also feature a walking tour of Mansa’s Last Stop (a local farm and produce market), a beach barbecue with martini and aged rum tasting bars at Coco Beach, a Veuve Clicquot champagne reception, a gala dinner, aged rum and chocolate tastings, wine and cheese pairings, table decor presentations and a lunch prepared by the Federation of St. Kitts & Nevis Culinary Team.
