Ecuador’s New Hotels and Cruise Offerings for 2025

Ecuador is set to enhance its tourism infrastructure in 2025 with strategic investments from international and local hospitality brands, according to a recent announcement from the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador.

The country's tourism sector is experiencing steady growth, with visitor numbers surpassing 589,000 in the first six months of this year and an anticipated annual growth rate of 2.88% projected until 2029.

Two new hotel projects are slated for 2025. Marriott International will debut the Courtyard Hotel by Marriott Quito at the city's airport, featuring 84 guestrooms and amenities tailored to business travelers. The property will include a gym, a business center, a meeting room and a grab-and-go market, with an expected summer 2025 opening.

Simultaneously, local hospitality group Oro Verde will launch Hotel Oro Verde Portoviejo in the Manabi province. Designed by Correa + Fatehi - ODD Architects, the hotel will offer 71 guestrooms, a rooftop pool, a gastrobar, event spaces and a restaurant, and is scheduled to open in spring 2025.

The luxury cruise market will also expand with the Hermes Catamaran in the Galapagos Islands, offering12 suites. The vessel will navigate through the islands of Santa Cruz, Espanola and Bartolome, providing travelers with an intimate exploration of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
