Radisson Seven Seas Cruises has unveiled the itineraries of its
second all-suite ship, due for delivery in February with an April 1
maiden voyage.
The 49,000-ton, 700-passenger Seven Seas Voyager will spend its
inaugural spring and summer season in Europe, offering seven- to
12-night Mediterranean, British Isles, Iberian Peninsula and Baltic
cruises.
In November 2003, the ship will operate in the Caribbean, Panama
Canal and Mexico.
In December 2003, the Voyager will offer a number of roundtrips
from Los Angeles, including seven-, five- and eight-night Mexico
cruises.
Mark Conroy, president and CEO of Radisson Seven Seas, said
bookings for the Voyager have picked up since the brochure was
distributed in the past few weeks.
“We have about $6 million in bookings so far,” he said in late
July. The Seven Seas Voyager is a sister to the Seven Seas Mariner,
introduced in March 2001, but also incorporates features of the
Seven Seas Navigator, which made its debut in September 1999.
“This ship is a cross between the two,” Conroy explained. “The
Voyager is a sister to the Mariner because it’s about the same size
actually slightly smaller so it’s kind of a sister but not a
twin.”
Input from past passengers and travel agents showed that the
public spaces on Mariner are very popular, as are the
marble-appointed bathrooms on the Navigator, which have separate
shower enclosures and full bathtubs.
While the public rooms will be similar to the Mariner, the
alternative Latitudes restaurant will have a show kitchen for the
Le Cordon Bleu cooking classes taught onboard.
“Plus, the Compass Rose dining room has the smokestack going
through it, so it’s almost like three rooms,” Conroy said. “On the
Voyager, it will be like one big room.”
All suites on the Voyager will measure at least 356 square feet.
All accommodations will have private balconies, separate living
areas, walk-in closets and marble bathrooms with full bathtubs and
separate showers.
Butler service will be available to guests in 88 suites in
category B and above.
A new accommodation category is the aft-facing Horizon suite,
which offers views overlooking the stern.
Fares for the 12-night Monte Carlo-to-Venice maiden voyage start
at $5,755, including early booking savings, shipboard gratuities,
wine with dinner and an in-suite bar setup. Air add-ons are $1,049
to $1,399.
The seven-night Scandinavian and Russian Sojourn cruises between
Copenhagen and Stockholm are priced from $3,685. Departures are
scheduled for July 1, July 8, July 15, July 22, July 29, Aug. 5 and
Aug. 12. The itinerary includes two onboard nights in St.
Petersburg.
