Oceania Cruises Increases Sales Team

Aug 10, 2009

In preparation for the sales and marketing launch of the new 1,258-passenger Marina, Oceania Cruises is adding several new team members to its sales staff. Three new regional sales directors are being added in the U.S., one in Canada and one in Europe, along with two new Agency Sales and Support personnel in Miami and the U.K.

"Oceania Cruises is poised for significant expansion in the coming year and I am delighted to be adding these six industry veterans to our team, who will support our valued travel agent partners," said president Bob Binder.

The new members of the Oceania team come from luxury sales or agency backgrounds.

Gene Marcus will take over agency sales and support for North America, coming from a background of 15 years of sales and marketing experience in the travel industry, most recently with Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL). Prior to NCL, he was the manager of marketing communications for Cruise One and at Certified Vacations.

Cathy Denroche-Brown — who is now the regional sales director of the newly created Western Canada sales territory — joins Oceania Cruises from Crystal Cruises. Based in Vancouver, she has 33 years of experience with major cruise brands.

Twenty-eight-year veteran of the travel industry Susan Mullen comes from Crystal Cruises and will cover the Southwest U.S., including Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah.

The Marina will be a bold move for Oceania when she debuts in September 2010 with substantially larger accommodations, a Canyon Ranch spa and a culinary arts center in cooperation with Bon Apetit, boasting 22 cooking stations, comparable to the finest culinary schools.
