The return to California cruising is not limited to Long Beach, Los Angeles and San Diego. Princess Cruises has also relaunched Ruby Princess from San Francisco.
"Princess is proud to have our sixth MedallionClass ship back to provide sought-after cruise vacations," said John Padgett, Princess’ new president, in a press release. "It's inspiring to see guests enjoying real vacations again, and to watch our teammates deliver such meaningful and memorable Princess vacations.”
Ruby first embarked passengers again on Oct. 31, 2021. Leaving from the Port of San Francisco, the ship will head to the California Coast, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska and the Panama Canal through 2023. Itineraries will range from five to 15 days in length.
"The Port of San Francisco is proud to be the home port of Ruby Princess,” said Elaine Forbes, executive director of the Port of San Francisco, in the release. “For over 50 years Princess Cruises has sailed from the Port of San Francisco connecting our local merchants, Fisherman’s Wharf, PIER 39 and our iconic City to communities all-around the world.”
Clients will appreciate the convenience of Ocean Medallion technology. Each passenger gets a quarter-size, wearable device that enables touch-free boarding, cabin unlocking, wayfinding and the ordering of gifts, food and drinks to wherever they are located onboard.
Besides the latest tech, Ruby features nearly 900 verandas, signature Movies Under the Stars outdoor film screenings, The Sanctuary upper deck adults-only retreat, a Crown Grill steakhouse and Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria. New to the top decks are Slice Pizzeria and Coffee & Cones.
Sailings onboard Ruby Princess are currently available only to those guests who are fully vaccinated and test negative for COVID-19 within 48 hours of boarding.
