National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions has announced the charter of Aqua Blu, a 28-guest vessel owned by Aqua Expeditions, to launch a new series of diving expeditions in Indonesia beginning in October 2026.

The long-range ocean explorer yacht features 14 suites across five decks. Amenities include indoor and outdoor dining areas, an outdoor wellness area with hot tub, a lounge and a spa with Balinese treatments. The vessel comes equipped with snorkeling and kayaking gear, plus complimentary diving for up to 10 experienced, certified divers per session.

"Indonesia, in particular, has captured the imagination of travelers, with growing interest reflected in its inclusion on The New York Times' 52 Places to Go list this year," said Trey Byus, chief expedition officer at Lindblad Expeditions. "Our guests are naturally curious and drawn to places that inspire discovery, and the addition of Aqua Blu will allow us to bring our travelers even closer to the wild beauty and rich cultural heritage of Indonesia like never before."

Two 15-day itineraries have been announced.

Launching October 2026, "Indonesia's Coral Gardens and Komodo Dragons" traverses Indonesia's Coral Triangle. Highlights include Komodo National Park to observe Komodo dragons, diving in Taka Bonerate National Park, exploring the Banda Sea, kayaking through mangrove forests, community engagement opportunities and conservation discussions.

Beginning November 2026, "Indonesia's Spice Islands and Raja Ampat" combines cultural exploration with marine adventure. Guests will snorkel and dive in Raja Ampat's coral reefs; view ancient rock art in Misool's lagoons; and visit historic nutmeg plantations, traditional villages, jungle waterfalls and remote volcanic islands.
