Princess Cruises Brings Trip Planning and Pricing Checks Into ChatGPT

ChatGPT can now access Princess Cruises information.

Travelers can now explore Princess Cruises sailings directly inside ChatGPT, as the line introduces a native app on the platform. Princess says it is the first global cruise line to do so. The app connects ChatGPT to information and services on the Princess website and keeps users linked to the line's booking ecosystem.

After installing the app, users type @princesscruises into a chat and ask questions in plain language. The tool covers more than 330 destinations across 17 ships. Within one conversation, travelers can search by destination, date and length of sailing and compare itineraries and ships, as well as review ports, shore excursions, cruise-tours, onboard experiences and packages. They can also check current pricing and availability. Follow-up questions let them narrow results by personal preference. Someone looking at Alaska, for example, might ask which itineraries visit Glacier Bay National Park, which leave from Seattle or how two sailings differ.

Princess offered two sample prompts: "@princesscruises show me seven-night cruises that visit Santorini in August 2027," and "@princesscruises help me plan a cruise to Alaska next summer."

”There is a broader shift in travel discovery as consumers increasingly use generative AI not simply to find information, but to help evaluate choices and plan increasingly complex trips," said Neena Vicente, vice president of digital commerce and experience at Princess. "This launch places Princess at the forefront of agentic commerce in the cruising industry, creating a new entry point into cruise discovery that inspires guests to find the vacation that is right for them."

Setup requires a ChatGPT account, which can be created for free. On desktop, users choose Plugins from the left-hand sidebar. On mobile, they tap the menu icon in the top-left corner, select the settings gear at the bottom of the sidebar and pick Browse Plugins. They then search for Princess Cruises and click the plus sign to add, install and connect the plugin. Once connected, they can start a new chat and enter a request such as "@princesscruises help me plan a cruise to Japan next spring."

ChatGPT is the only platform supporting the app for now. Princess plans to add other compatible AI platforms later, depending on platform availability and technical requirements.
