This year, Regent Seven Seas Cruises is celebrating 30 years of luxury voyages. To commemorate the occasion, the line has revealed special 30th Anniversary Voyages in Africa, Alaska, Asia, Canada and New England, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and South America, as well as its longest ever world cruise, scheduled for 2025.
“Our clients appreciate the all-inclusive amenities, the intimacy of the ships and the staff,” said Olga Placeres, president and CFO of Preferred Travel of Naples. “So many of our clients are repeat guests, and they have favorite ships and staff. We truly have a preferred partnership with Regent.”
Placeres emphasizes that the agency’s relationship with Nicole Castillo, Regent’s director of sales and marketing for Florida, is crucial to the level of support received, which she feels comes from the very top of the cruise company.
"Another key element is the number of staff, myself included, who have been able to personally experience Regent,” she added. “They are able to share the experience with their clients and translate it into Regent sales, which in turn helps us create a returning client and past passenger.”
The History of Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Regent began its history as Diamond Cruise, then became Radisson Seven Seas Cruises, sailing its namesake Radisson Diamond, the unique 350-guest catamaran vessel. Seven Seas Navigator launched in 1999, Seven Seas Mariner in 2001 and Seven Seas Voyager in 2003. In 2006, the all-inclusive brand was officially renamed Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
In more recent years, the all-suite, all-balcony Seven Seas Explorer joined the fleet in 2016, followed by sister ship Seven Seas Splendor in 2020. The line’s Seven Seas Grandeur will arrive in 2023.
"There are so many things about Regent which keep me loyal, but I think that one major thing is sailing with the wonderful crew and staff,” said Peggy Nathan, a loyal Regent client who has been on more than 30 sailings with the brand. “Everyone at every level is excellent at their jobs and wonderfully friendly to everyone onboard. I never pass anyone — on the ship or off — who does not address me by name and with a smile. Another thing are the friends that I’ve made over the years and the pleasure of sailing with them year after year.”
Nathan has tried several other luxury cruise lines but says that none come close to Regent’s feeling of “home.”
Regent’s inclusions extend to complimentary premium beverages, specialty dining, roundtrip business-class air on intercontinental flights, unlimited Wi-Fi internet access, unlimited shore excursions and, most recently, valet laundry.
“We are incredibly excited to be celebrating our pearl anniversary, three decades of setting the standard in luxury travel, and I cannot wait to see what the next 30 years will bring,” said Jason Montague, president and CEO of Regent. “This wouldn’t be possible without the ongoing support from our incredible team both shipboard and shoreside, loyal guests and valued Travel Partners.”
Commemorative Itineraries and World Cruise
Special 30th Anniversary Voyages on the line’s current fleet of five vessels (minus the retired Radisson Diamond) will range in length from seven to 21 days and feature commemorative pins and gifts, an anniversary party on each sailing, specialty entertainment and bespoke cocktails and dining. Twice the usual Seven Seas Society savings is also available on these sailings.
What’s more, Regent has unveiled its 2025 world cruise, dubbed “Away in Wonder,” which will be 150 nights in length and head to 25 countries and 97 overall ports of call. Embarking in Miami and finishing in San Francisco onboard Seven Seas Mariner, the cruise will include 36,295 nautical miles’ worth of exploring in South America, the South Pacific, Australia and New Zealand, Asia and Alaska.
Altogether, it will include 395 free shore excursions and also offer complimentary first-class airfare, door-to-door luggage service, a visa package, unlimited valet laundry with dry-cleaning and pressing, phone call time, onboard medical service and a commemorative gift.
The voyage can even be extended with an 18-night Mexican Riviera and Panama Canal route disembarking in Miami.
“Our travel partners and our own booking trends have been telling us that luxury travelers want to visit exotic destinations and [travel] for extended periods of time, which is why it is the perfect time for us to launch our longest ever world cruise,” said Shawn Tubman, senior vice president of sales for Regent. “This is a great opportunity for travel advisors to take advantage of an extremely desirable sailing and secure cruise bookings which attract some of the highest commission rates in the travel industry. We’re here to help with a dedicated 2025 world cruise sales toolkit, which includes a dedicated brochure, enticing video and much more.”
