Jasmund National Park is a hidden Narnia in the far northeast of Germany. Just 30 square kilometers, this may be Germany's smallest national park, but its beauty is vast. Though famous for its chalk cliffs (the largest in the country), the park was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011 because of its primeval beech forest.
The lush, green woods serve as an aesthetic complement to those brilliantly white chalk cliffs, which, through erosion, have turned the surrounding Baltic Sea waters a bright turquoise-jade color. Marshes, wetlands and dry grasslands can also be found within the rugged landscape, as well as peregrine falcons and the rare sea eagle.
You may not see Aslan in this beautiful fantasyland, but you'll get pretty close.
