ExperiencePlus! is teaming up with Jeff Lebesch, founder and former owner of New Belgium Brewing, for a unique biking and brewery tour of Belgium. Master brewer Lebesch will give clients an insider’s understanding of the brewery experience while offering a novel way to discover the region and its culture.
“Anyone who loves to drink beer or who is captivated by the notion of making beer will be in hops heaven on our new Bicycling Belgium’s Best Breweries Tour,” said Maria Elena Price, co-owner and manager of ExperiencePlus! Bicycle Tours.
The tour takes place from Aug. 23 to Sept. 2, right before the annual Brussels Beer Festival on Sept. 3-5, so that clients can continue their fun with an extended stay. A shortened, eight-day tour is also available from Aug. 23 to 30.
The tour begins and ends in Brussels after cycling as many as 55 miles a day, for a total of 173 miles over the span of eight days and 277 miles over the course of 11 days. For both tours, the gentile cycling terrain makes it feasible clients of various skill levels. Locations visited along the way include World War I battleground sites, such as Waterloo and Ieper, the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Brugge and Tournai and Trappist breweries where the beer is brewed by monks.
The eight-day Bicycling Belgium’s Best Breweries cycling tour is priced at $3,395 per person, and the Bicycling Belgium Plus 11-day tour is priced at $4,595 per person. Rates are based on double occupancy, and single supplement rates are also available. Prices include the use of a quality multi-speed bicycle, accommodations, breakfasts, some dinners, guided brewery visits and beer tastings with dinner.
