With interest booming in the Emerald Isle's lesser-traveled areas, CIE Tours International is offering the “Northern Gems” vacation, a 10-day/8-night escorted tour that concentrates on the West and North of Ireland. The itinerary, which begins in Shannon and ends in Dublin, travels to Ennis, the Cliffs of Moher, The Burren, Galway, Connemara, Cong, Knock, Sligo, Belleek, Donegal, Slieve League Cliffs, Derry, Giant's Causeway, Glens of Antrim, Belfast, Mountains of Mourne, and the Boyne Valley.

In addition to scenic drives, activities include a “Quiet Man” walking tour of Cong; walking tour of Derry with a local guide; tour of Belfast with a local guide; open-top bus tour of Dublin with visit/drink at Guinness Storehouse or Old Jameson Distillery; catamaran cruise on Killary fjord with Irish coffee; minibus excursion to the Slieve League Cliffs, hand-weaving demonstration; and an overnight with dinner and entertainment at 18th century Cabra Castle.

The price provides superior first class hotel accommodations with private bath for eight nights; full Irish breakfast daily; seven dinners including two nights with musical entertainment; welcome get-together drink; fully escorted sightseeing tour with the services of a professional Irish driver/guide; admissions to the Cliffs of Moher, Burren Display Centre, Poulnabrone Dolmen, Connemara Celtic Crystal Factory, Kylemore Abbey Visitor Centre, Museum of Country Life, Knock Shrine, Yeats' Grave, Belleek Pottery, Triona Design, Giant's Causeway, and Battle of the Boyne Centre; deluxe flight bag, ticket wallet, luggage tags and strap; and all local taxes, hotel service charges and porterage for one suitcase per person.
