“Agent after agent asked if and when we will do being custom programs to Italy, so we decided to make Italy a priority,” explained Richard Krieger, director of sales and marketing for Isramworld. “Portugal came about after the vice president of Escapade Vacations, Eitan Silberber, made a visit to Portugal and came back with a real fervor for promoting upscale travel to Portugal. We did an informal survey of agents and found that while many had sold Portugal as an add-on to a trip to Spain, many did not know about the wide range of luxury selling opportunities within the country so Portugal was added as sort of [unexplored] part of Europe.”
