The United Kingdom hosts a diverse array of LGBTQ+ events throughout the year, from major summer festivals to special celebrations of film, literature and more.

Whether travelers are visiting England, Scotland or Wales, here’s how they can enjoy the spirit of Pride all year long.

Summer Festival Season

Edinburgh's festival season runs concurrently with two major events from Aug. 1-25, 2025. The Edinburgh International Festival operates from Aug. 1-24, while the Edinburgh Fringe Festival extends one day longer through Aug. 25. Both take place in Scotland's capital. The festivals feature performances across music, comedy dance and more, and include LGBTQ+ programming within their broader cultural offerings.

UK Black Pride celebrates its 20th anniversary on Aug. 10, 2025, at Haggerston Park in Hackney, London. The event is described as Europe's largest Pride celebration specifically for LGBTQ+ people of color, combining live music, political elements, poetry and a carnival atmosphere with performances from dancers, singers, DJs and speakers.

Manchester Pride extends over 11 days from Aug. 15-25, 2025, in northwest England (two hours by train from London). The festival encompasses multiple events, including Manchester Pride Live, Superbia Weekend, the Gay Village Party, a Candlelit Vigil, the Manchester Pride Parade and a Youth Parade.
