Paradise Helicopters recently introduced two Hawaii tours that take memory-making to new heights. Each excursion combines thrilling flightseeing with land-based adventures that appeal to all ages.
The Volcanoes and Waterfall Swim package on Hawaii Island starts with a helicopter trip from Hilo to Kilauea, one of the world’s most active volcanoes. After providing aerial views of sizzling lava flows and steam vents, the chopper touches down on a 1,000-acre farm, where guests snack on seasonal fruit and fresh macadamia nuts. Next, clients swim, kayak and paddle around and under a private 120-foot-high waterfall, building up an appetite for a picnic lunch ($444 per person, with 50 minutes of flight time and 2½ hours of ground activities).
On Oahu, guests can sign up for the Kualoa Expedition Tour, lifting off from Kalaeloa Airport. Through large windows, clients gaze down at Pearl Harbor, home of the USS Arizona Memorial. Then they fly farther east and north for lofty photo ops of some of the island’s most dazzling landmarks, from Hanauma Bay to Sacred Falls. After landing at 4,000-acre Kualoa Ranch, families pick one of three outings: a horseback riding tour, an ATV ride or a zipline experience (from $719 per person for up to 6½ hours).
