A Celebration of Harry Potter at Universal

For the Muggles among us still dreaming of hopping onboard the Hogwarts Express, Universal Orlando Resort is hosting a three-day Celebration of Harry Potter from Jan. 29-31.

Families will see stars from the movies such as Rupert Grint, Bonnie Wright and others, as well as the films’ head prop-maker and wand-combat choreographer, who will all participate in Q&A sessions and panels. The expo will feature a mini-tour of the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, which includes the original sets, props and costumes used in the making of the films. Guests are invited to walk through the Great Hall and try on the sorting hat, which will announce whether they’re in Gryffindor or Slytherin. Graphic props such as the Marauder’s Map, various Hogwarts spell books and The Daily Prophet will be on display.

There will also be interactive activities, such as “Dance Like a Beauxbatons and Battle Like a Durmstrang.” And, of course, guests will have access to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, where they can wander down Diagon Alley or enjoy a butterbeer at The Three Broomsticks cafe.
