The “Summer of Heroes” at Disney California Adventure will feature several new attractions that put the spotlight on some of Marvel’s legendary superheroes — setting the stage for a continuing expansion of the superhero universe at the theme park.
Starting this May, the new Guardians of the Galaxy–Mission: Breakout! will take guests on a thrilling, high-tech adventure with the stars of the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movie franchise. Along with the arrival of the new adventure attraction is the launch of a year-round Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off live experience, where Star-Lord gets everyone grooving at a rock ’n’ roll dance party by playing tunes on his old-school boom box.
From May 27 to Sept. 10, visitors will also be able to experience all-new interactions with Groot, Captain America and Spider-Man.
In addition, there will also be exclusive Summer of Heroes adventures. These live encounters with Avengers characters will include the Avengers Training Initiative, where Black Widow and Hawkeye test young recruits to see if they have what it takes to join the Avengers, and Heroic Encounter: Black Widow, featuring an armored Avengers vehicle.
