Norwegian Cruise Line recently unveiled new family-friendly amenities at Great Stirrup Cay, the cruise line’s private island in the Bahamas. The 250-acre island will now feature a new family recreation area — complete with a live-music stage, basketball and volleyball courts, ping-pong areas and more — as well as a 1,000-foot-long zipline; private, air-conditioned villas; and a new half-mile oceanside boardwalk with 100,000 square feet of pedestrian pathways. All dining and bar venues on the island will also be updated, and more than $1 million has been invested in new island landscaping.
The enhancements are all part of the cruise line’s $400 million investment program and will be available to clients in 2017.
