All “Harry Potter” fans know the iconic portal that is Platform 9 3/4, where Hogwarts students make the annual passage from London to the wizarding world beyond. These days, with a new Harry Potter play on London’s West End and more books in the series to come from J.K. Rowling, it’s a good time to remind fans that they can carry on the tradition of Harry and his friends at the real King’s Cross station in London.
Even though King’s Cross station was renovated in 2012, Platform 9 3/4 still waits with a fake trolley lodged halfway into the wall — fans will also note Harry’s luggage and white owl, Hedwig. After waiting in line, each person can pose in the footsteps of a student, pushing the trolley through the magic wall.
Near the photo spot, there is also a large Harry Potter store modeled after Ollivander’s shop, where Harry bought his wand. Fans can purchase a wide range of collectibles here.
