This summer, nightfall at Universal Studios Hollywood brings an amazing new experience to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle is a new, state-of-the-art light display and special effects projection that showcases the four houses of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry: Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Slytherin and Gryffindor.
The colorful visual display on Hogwarts Castle begins with a narration by the Hogwarts Sorting Hat and is accompanied by a special musical arrangement created by Academy Award-winning composer John Williams based on his well-known scores for the “Harry Potter” films.
After the Sorting Hat explains the qualities of the four houses, Hogwarts’ impressive facade is bathed in the colors of each house, with the house crests displayed one by one on the castle’s main turret. In addition, thousands of lights in the trees surrounding Hogwarts change color to correspond with each house, culminating in a spectacular display that includes beams of blue light that fan out far into the night sky.
The nighttime lights will take place multiple times per evening this summer.
