Do the parents want a winter ski vacation but the kids would rather go on a camping trip? The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, in North Lake Tahoe, Calif., has divided households covered this holiday season.
While parents dream about tomorrow’s slopes in king-size beds, kids ages 4 to 8 can spread out in their very own tent. The Ritz Kids Indoor Campout Program, at $100 per child, offers a 4-by-4-foot indoor tent outfitted in Ritz-Carlton linens and feather beds, a camp light, a Ritz-Carlton Teddy bear, a coloring book and a s’mores kit that can be used at the hotel’s fire pit.
The property also has post-snow day unwinding covered for the whole clan. During the property’s Apres-Ski Experience, parents can slurp oysters and sip champagne. Meanwhile, kids can get their artisanal sugar buzz from the property’s “Marshmology” sessions, which feature stories from an expert “Marshmologist” and homemade, holiday-themed marshmallows.
Families who visit Dec. 20-23 can also take advantage of the hotel’s rich holiday programming, which includes holiday photos, story time and arts and crafts with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
