Stand-up paddleboarding in a hot spring may be one of the lesser-known excursions possible in Park City, Utah, but it’s loads of fun for grown-ups and children with a penchant for adventure. Local tour operator Park City Yoga Adventures (PCYA) offers its Paddleboard Yoga excursion year-round, and children as young as 7 years old have participated in the past.
The one-hour trip takes visitors inside the 10,000-year-old Homestead Crater, full of mineral-rich water heated by the earth. PCYA founder Julia Geisler demonstrates yoga poses from the dock while guests balance and bend on paddleboards floating in the pool; her instruction can be altered depending on the skill level of the guests. After yoga, there’s time to relax in the natural hot tub.
For an even tougher workout, families can hike or snowshoe with PCYA before heading to Homestead Crater — the perfect opportunity to wear a swimsuit under snow gear.
