When Universal’s Volcano Bay opens at Universal Orlando Resort on May 25, the first-of-its-kind 30-acre waterpark will feature a variety of unique experiences. Early reports say the park will have a multidirectional wave pool with sandy beaches; kid-friendly slides, geysers and fountains in Tot Tiki Reef and Runamukka Reef; the Kala & Tai Nui Serpentine Body Slides, with twin trap doors that simultaneously drop two guests down clear, intertwining tubes; and the Ko’okiri Body Plunge, with a 70-degree fall through a drop door.

Volcano Bay will also offer a new wearable technology called TapuTapu. As part of admission, all guests receive this wearable unit, which allows them to virtually wait in line while they enjoy other areas of the park until the unit alerts them when it’s their turn to ride. In addition, TapuTapu gives guests access to “tap-to-play” experiences designed exclusively for Volcano Bay.

In addition, Krakatau Aqua Coaster takes guests through the park’s 200-foot-tall Krakatau volcano, which features waterfalls during the day and fiery lava effects at night. After boarding specially designed four-person canoes, guests will travel through the massive volcano, moving along dark passageways and through waterfalls.

Agents can view an all-new Volcano Bay video training series and purchase tickets and packages for clients at UniversalTravelAgents.com.
