The Hawaiian green sea turtle swims into the spotlight throughout June at Maui Ocean Center. During a series of programs called Turtle Mania, clients can find out fun facts about the flippered critters.
Each day, naturalists offer interactive presentations throughout the attraction, and visitors can join behind-the-scenes tours. Young guests can take part in story time and hands-on crafts activities. Other special events include close-up turtle encounters, a Father’s Day buffet, the Sleep With the Sharks sleepover, World Oceans Day festivities, talk-story sessions and hula lessons.
It all takes place at the largest tropical aquarium in the western hemisphere, featuring 60 exhibits. While there, clients can check out the 750,000-gallon Open Ocean exhibit, complete with an acrylic tunnel.
