3 Exciting New Oberoi Hotels for 2016

The Oberoi Group, which owns or operates 30 hotels around the world, has announced plans to open three new properties later this year.

Sited near Morocco; Dubai, United Araba Emirates; and Chandigarh, India, each of the new luxury hotels will be located in dramatic natural environments, according to Hemant Mediratta,  vice president of sales for Oberoi Hotels & Resorts

“The new hotels have distinctive architecture and luxurious interiors, giving each property a sense of place in keeping with the destination,” he said. “The Oberoi, Marrakech in Morocco is nestled within 25 acres of fragrant citrus orchards and ancient olive groves and offers breathtaking views of the magnificent Atlas mountains. And The Oberoi, Al Zorah in Dubai is in a luxury eco-destination with a beautiful, long beachfront, azure lagoons and lush mangroves.”

The company’s third 2016 luxury addition, The Oberoi Sukhvilas, is situated 30 minutes outside of Chandigarh and scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2016. The 60-villa property will be surrounded by more than 8,000 acres of protected natural forest, according to Mediratta.

Just a half an hour from Dubai International Airport, the Al Zorah property, home to 113 ultra-modern villas and suites, is slated to welcome its first guests in the third quarter of 2016. The Marrakech property, featuring 77 villas, will open in the fourth quarter of the year.

Meanwhile, Oberoi launched a second luxury Nile cruise product earlier this year in Egypt: The Oberoi Philae ship, which features 22 high-end cabins and suites, an onboard restaurant, a 24-hour gym, a swimming pool, a movie theatre and a cigar bar. The four-deck vessel sails four- and six-night itineraries between Luxor and Aswan.

“The cruiser is the ideal getaway for the affluent, discerning traveler looking to explore a region steeped in history while basking in luxury,” Mediratta said. “The time to visit Egypt is now. The tourist region of Red Sea and the route between Aswan and Luxor are seeing an increase in tourism.”
