Accor Hotels Offers Sophistication in Brisbane

Accor Hotels’ Novotel Brisbane Hotel and the Sofitel Brisbane Central give clients sophisticated options in Brisbane’s city center.

Located directly above the central train station, the Sofitel Brisbane Central couldn’t be better situated for travelers – especially those arriving to the hotel from the airport. There is direct service from the Brisbane Airport to the hotel via the train.

Overlooking Anzac square, the luxury property features spacious rooms, the Cuvee Lounge Bar and several restaurants. While there are ample things to do at the hotel, the city is right at guests’ fingertips as well. There are a multitude of eateries, shops and activities within walking distance, and the hotel’s direct access to trains also means that guests can be in trendy Fortitude Valley or any of the inner suburbs within minutes.

The 429-room property features several different accommodation categories. My Luxury Club Room was on one of the Club Levels, which gives clients special privileges such as access to the Club Lounge on the 30th floor. The room, with a Sofitel My Bed, was cozy and spacious, with a nice work station for business travelers and a flat-screen television, minibar and a nice-sized bathroom.

I was most impressed by the Club Lounge. In the evening, I found a gorgeous spread of food, including sushi, salad, soup and more. Everything was fresh and dishes were constantly replenished. There was also self-serve wine, beer, spirits and champagne in addition to juice, coffee, tea and soda.

In the mornings, the Club Lounge features a full breakfast. There are ample places to sit, with traditional tables as well as lounge chairs and sofas. Despite a beautiful work station in each guestroom, many guests brought their laptops up to the lounge and worked (or surfed the Internet, like me) from there. The Club Lounge features wireless Internet access, workstations and a media/entertainment center as well.

While the Sofitel offers a complete luxury experience, the Novotel is the picture of sophistication and modernity. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed with its sleek design. The lobby features a spacious lounge area as well as a bar, which proved popular with visiting groups, and an elegant restaurant.

The hotel is walking distance from the train station, but it is located up a hill. For older clients, I would recommend taking a cab or other transportation from the airport rather than suggesting they walk up the street. That being said, the hotel seemed to attract a young, hip crowd, and its modern design and amenities are ideally suited to this type of traveler.

Rooms have an almost zen quality about them with dark woods and soothing dark red tones, and further enhanced by the in-room yoga television channel. My Premier Balcony Room was equipped with all the necessities: king-size bed, flat-screen television, iPod docking station, minibar and more.

The hotel offers 24-hour room service as well as a spacious fitness area with a variety of modern gym equipment. There is a beautiful pool, which I was – unfortunately -- unable to take advantage of since it was raining. However, I was perfectly happy to do some in-room yoga and partake in a variety of healthy snacks from my minibar before heading to the airport for my flight back to Los Angeles.

Whether your clients are craving the luxury of the Sofitel’s Club Lounge or the sophistication of the Novotel, Accor Hotels is certainly a good option for clients traveling to Brisbane.
