Beaches Resorts Makes Travel a Family Affair

Jun 16, 2008

This December, a touch of Italy will come to the Caribbean. A multimillion dollar expansion project will add a new Italian Village and 162 two-bedroom family suites to the Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort & Spa. Suites will feature soothing earth tones, palm tree draperies and seashell throw pillows.

Suites will have separate bedrooms for adults, complete with a sitting area, plasma TV and a mahogany four-poster bed dressed with luxurious linens. The kids’ room will have bunk beds, an Xbox 360 game console, a multi-function game table, a nautical mahogany storage wall unit, a vanity unit with basin and a plasma TV.

Elegant bathrooms will feature white marble wall tiles, glass mosaic accents, mahogany vanities with makeup mirrors, whirlpool tubs and rainhead showers. Suites are available in 14 room categories and feature wonderful pool, garden or ocean views.

Also part of the Italian Village, eighteen Imperial suites will expand upon the family suite to include a living and dining room area, cocktail table, desk, oval six-seat dining table, wet bar, and pantry with refrigerator and microwave. Butler service is also available on a request-only basis.

The Italian Village will have four new gourmet dining options, including a 250-seat Italian restaurant, a barefoot by the sea restaurant, a British pub and a Kids Grille with hamburgers and hot dogs. There will also be retail stores and a Pirate’s Island waterpark described as one of the largest in the Caribbean.

There are activities and amenities for guests of all ages. These include a pirate and mermaid-themed “Kids Kamp” catering to ages six to 12. This area offers video arcade games, an Xbox 360 game garage, and a Crayola Art Camp. Teens will have their own nightclub called Liquid, a space above the waterpark with a sunken dance floor which transforms into a lounge. There’s even a youth spa which will have makeovers and hair braiding.

Rates for the Italian Village begin at approximately $720 per adult, per night, for stays of three nights or longer. Until the Italian Village opens, families can experience Beaches’ Luxury Included vacation, featuring savings up to 40 percent off at all four resort locations in Jamaica and Turks and Caicos. Between June 1 and Aug. 31, rates start at $535 per family (two adults and two children) per night.

In September and October, families will save up to 45 percent and receive two free nights on a seven-night stay. During the WonderFall season, parents with preschoolers can enjoy Sesame Street stage shows, parenting seminars hosted by Sesame Workshop, Live Show with Gordon and Elmo and more.
