The InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort opened in June. Tucked away on its own private bay on the Son Tra Peninsula, the property has 197 guestrooms, suites and beachfront villas featuring panoramic views of the East Sea and the surrounding rainforest.
The resort is the latest creation by Asia’s renowned designer and architect, Bill Bensley. Six years in the making, the hotel’s design includes a palette of earthy colors, bold features and striking Vietnamese-inspired decor, creating an aesthetic that sets the resort apart from all other properties in the region.
InterContinental Danang’s vibrant design continues through each space, including 168 classic and premium rooms, 16 Atrium Suites with large terraces and daybeds, six Villas with private pools and sundecks, four Penthouses with private pools, two Spa Lagoon Retreat Villas and one Royal Residence By The Sea, which comes with a separate dining area, a bar and a private pool. Expansive bathrooms offer double-basin vanities, deep-soaking marble bathtubs and separate walk-in rain showers.
Gourmet French dining is offered at La Maison 1888, helmed by three-star Michelin chef Michel Roux. The resort is also home to two additional restaurants and bars, including Citron, which features private dining booths that suspend over the hillside (pictured above).
Guests can swim in the bay or in the outdoor pools and participate in a range of entertainment and recreation activities. Planet Trekkers, InterContinental’s signature kid’s club, is available for the younger guests, while business visitors will have access to The Summit, a spectacular meeting space set within the surrounding hillside that can accommodate up to 250 guests. Thai-based, Harnn Heritage Spa will begin treatments in October with the spa opening in its entirety in December.
Guests can explore the nearby UNESCO World Heritage sites of The Imperial City of Hue, The Old Town of Hoi An and the My Son ruins located near the resort. Danang International Airport is conveniently located 30 minutes away.
