All-inclusive resorts in Mexico usually focus on two target markets — families and adult couples. Live Aqua Cancun focuses on adults 26 years and older, with a slight nod toward sophisticated socializing rather than resort-style couple cocooning.
“Live Aqua is the place where you can be whatever you want to be,” said Eduardo Cruz, Live Aqua Cancun’s general manager.
The 371-room beachfront resort has eight swimming pools, a large outdoor spa tub, tennis courts and numerous adult-centered activities that include tai chi, taekwondo and yoga classes, on-site bird-watching and golf lessons. The fitness center has 30 LifeFitness and ProStep workout stations, free weights and an exercise floor as well as aerobics and spinning classes. Holding to the sensuous and indulgent theme, guests will find in-room aromatherapy menus, an in-house DJ spinning electronic music and 24-hour room service. The two main restaurants are MB, serving international cuisine, and Siete, offering alta cocina (haute Mexican cuisine). A nice touch are the mosaic portraits of Mexican art icons Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo.
The resort’s Spa Aqua provides treatments rooted in Maya culture, such as Maya massages, hot-stone massages and regionally themed treatments (chocolate or avocado body wraps, coffee exfoliations, a traditional Maya temazcal).
The spa also offers relaxation techniques associated with Sweden, Australia, Polynesia, Morocco and India. The spa features a variety of settings, including rooms for individuals and couples, as well as outside spaces in a tranquil garden setting.
Business amenities include a 24-hour business center, wireless Internet access, meeting rooms for small groups and a technology help desk. Event facilities consist of a ballroom, exhibit space, conference rooms and banquet facilities.

Live Aqua Cancun recently introduced an all-inclusive, adult-only concept that focuses on luxury and indulgence. The resort is currently running a promotion through Aug. 25. Guests staying a minimum of three nights receive $160 worth of resort credit to be applied toward spa services and premium drinks.
