New Almond Casuarina Beach Resort Opens in Barbados

May 07, 2008

The Almond Casuarina Beach Resort in Barbados will unveil its expanded and refurbished facilities in May. Located on beautiful Dover Beach, the eco-friendly resort blends gracefully with acres of tropical forest and a natural turtle habitat. It’s one of the few hotels in the region with its own tropical ecosystem, which ensures the preservation of green monkeys and hawksbill turtles.

The layout of the resort lends a feeling of privacy that allows guests to hide away, relax and refresh themselves. Yet it’s also close enough to the St. Lawrence Gap area so that guests can, if they wish, experience Barbados’ nightlife.

In May, the resort will open 200 renovated rooms located in the gardens. In June, an added swimming pool will open, along with 100 additional rooms along the beach. There are six categories of rooms, ranging from standard rooms to two-bedroom suites.

Fine dining is available at three gourmet restaurants offering continental, Caribbean and seafood menus. Four bars serve premium-brand drinks.

The Casuarina is one of five four-star, all-inclusive Almond Resorts in the Caribbean. The all-inclusive resorts offer numerous sports activities, including tennis, water skiing, windsurfing, sailing and snorkeling. Massages, facials, and hydrotherapy are available in state-of-the-art Almond spas. All the hotels have children’s clubs and family entertainment, except the Almond Beach Club & Spa, which is for guests 16 and older.

Other Almond Resorts in Barbados include the Almond Beach Club & Spa and the Almond Beach Village. Guests are invited to stay at these resorts and use the complimentary shuttle to travel between them.

There are also two Almond resorts in St. Lucia: The Morgan Bay Beach Resort and the Smugglers Cove. Guests have the option of a two-island trip. Airfare between islands is additional.

A special all-inclusive opening rate for guests staying this summer at the Almond Casuarina is $568 per person for a three-night stay. Team Almond agents will receive a special introductory, all-inclusive rate of $50 per person per night. The Team Almond offer is valid for travel until June 30.

According to Wendy Cole, VP Marketing & Sales for North America, “If agents are not Team Almond members, this is the perfect opportunity to sign up.”
