Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts plans to open two new hotels in
Tianjin, China, and Singapore. The renovations of rooms and suites
in Pan Pacific Singapore have also been finished.
“The Pan Pacific Tianjin in China and the Pan Pacific Orchard in
Singapore mark our success in expanding our network and
strengthening our brand presence in key cities in Asia,” said Gwee
Lian Kheng, group CEO, Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts. “Both of
these hotels will allow us to capture not only the upswing inbound
tourism into Tianjin and Singapore but also cater to the growing
demand for Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts’ luxury accommodation and
impeccable personalized service in these two fast-growing
cities.”
Slated to open in 2010, the 24-story Pan Pacific Tianjin will
have 342 rooms, including guestrooms and junior suites. Other
amenities include an executive lounge, a specialty restaurant, an
all-day dining lounge, a gym and a swimming pool with river
view.
The hotel also has meeting facilities comprised of two ballrooms
and 15 function rooms. The Pan Pacific Tianjin will form part of a
mixed development including apartments and office and retail
space.
Located in northwest downtown of the Hong Qiao District along
Zhang Zhi Zong Lu, the Pan Pacific Tianjin offers a panoramic view
of the Hai He river and offers close proximity to the city’s
attractions. This northern Chinese port city is charting a new
economic path with the arrival of high tech industries, including
assembly plants for A320 airliners in 2009.
Beginning next month, the Negara on Claymore will be rebranded
as the Pan Pacific Orchard. It will be the brand’s second property
in Singapore within the commercial, retail, dining and
entertainment center of Orchard Road. The 20-story hotel will have
close access to shopping malls and key attractions of the city. For
clients away on business, the business district is only a
ten-minute drive or ride by MRT train.
“Having a second Pan Pacific hotel in Singapore also means that
we can now offer travelers a choice to stay at either the
award-winning Pan Pacific Singapore in the Marina Bay area or the
Pan Pacific Orchard on Orchard Road. We are confident that these
two new hotels will become leading hotels in their respective
cities and will create unique and memorable experiences for our
guests,” said Kheng.
The Pan Pacific Orchard has been extensively refurbished to
reflect the style of Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts. The 200-room
hotel will have 48 Pacific Club luxury executive suites and rooms
with contemporary decor and enhanced amenities completed this
month.
Clients staying in Pacific Club rooms have priority check-in and
check-out, butler service, free Internet access and exclusive
access to the Pacific Club lounge with complimentary breakfast,
afternoon tea and evening cocktails. Additional hotel facilities
include a business center, six meeting rooms, a boardroom, lobby
lounge, spa and fitness center. Two restaurants feature signature
and authentic cuisine.
Renovation to the company’s first Singapore hotel, Pan Pacific
Singapore, was also recently completed. The hotel’s rooms and
suites now incorporate a contemporary look with the signature
warmth of the brand’s design aesthetic.
Changes include the furnishings, furniture and bathroom
fixtures. Technological updates encompass air-conditioning, new
flat-screen LCD televisions, Bose Home Entertainment systems
(suites only) and a custom-designed audio-visual portal. An ample
desk, designer lamps and ergonomic chairs have been maintained.
Pan Pacific continues to refurbish with over $73 million
invested since 1995. In 2005 the hotel launched an entire floor
executive center with views of the city and harbor.
“The renovation is evidence of our continued commitment to
provide guests with the most updated facilities,” said general
manager Scott Swank. “Since the launch of the Executive Business
Floors in February 2006, we have experienced overwhelming demand
for this room category as today’s business travelers become more
sophisticated and selective in their accommodation choices. In
light of ever-competitive conditions within the industry on a local
and global level, it is vital for hospitality players to initiate
improvements proactively rather than being reactive.”
Pan Pacific Singapore’s $14 million March to November renovation
enhances the technological capabilities of guest accommodation in
response to travel trends indicating tech-savvy clients. LCD
televisions are now standard in all rooms and suites, as is a
custom-made audio-visual portal with connectivity for laptops,
digital and video cameras and MP3 players. The wired and wireless
Internet connections have also been enhanced.
Boutique interior design firm FBEYE International
custom-tailored the new designs for the hotel.
“The design scheme was created with contemporary home-from-home
luxury in mind. As Pan Pacific Singapore is a large hotel, we
anticipated evolving guest demographics. The rooms and suites were
developed with fluidity in mind, in order for guests to utilize the
space in many ways for private discussions, to work from, entertain
within, or simply to rest,” said Warren Foster-Brown, FBEYE
managing director.
Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts currently encompasses 20 hotels
in 11 countries throughout Asia, the Pacific and North America.
